Roll over boy!

For Tucker's 4-month birthday, and really because it was Thursday and we need to get out of the house, we went to my parents house. After dinner, I laid him on a blanket for some extra tummy time, and he rolled over! From belly to back with no prompting or toy to look at! I was just telling my mom that he was getting very mobile and had the ability, he just had to figure out. So I had him do it again. It was quite nice for my parents to witness it. (He rolled over one other time for me and Chad from side/facing down when I showed him a toy.)

With the eczema thing - I am actually supposed to give up ALL dairy which stinks since its  in many  foods. That also means chocolate- come on how I can I live without chocolate? Get real! I had a cookie last night- the kid is fine! Anyways I am still trying to follow doctor's orders. That also means I have to eat really healthy which is good but I feel like I'm on some annoying diet. His skin looks really good. We stopped with lotions and bath soap and will give him less baths for now. I already owned Cortaid since I sometimes have eczema issues and I love that stuff!

The ingredient that shall remain nameless

The Dr. said that a certain ingredient near and dear to everyone within 500 miles of Wisconsin temporarily gets the BAN for 10 days. Tucker has had a rash and it was pretty bad. So we are using Cortaid now and Aquaphor (more liberally than before) and after 4 days, the rash is practically gone. That's great! Except for the lack of the ingredient that shall remain nameless. We think (HOPE!) that it is the Cortaid and Aquaphor. Libby is going to conduct a little science project today and see what happens...

Hot Rod Hucksters in Rockford

Here's a couple pics from our Rockford show. It was great to be out and playing again. That's Brad in the middle, and he always comes up to sing Come On Everybody by Eddie Cochran if given the chance.

1941 baby photo

Isn't it amazing how much this pic of a baby with a toy Farmall from the '40s looks like Tucker?

Ok, it IS Tucker. Cool huh?

While writing the blog, we discovered that Tucker likes the song Indian Love Song by Artie Shaw. Appropriate for valentine's day! He really likes the "cheep cheep" part. He was quite impressed with my ability to insert the "cheep cheep" into every Artie Shaw song following.

Now he is helping me type. He's not very good at typing though. He's all thumbs. Which is his new discovery this week. His thumb. Fingers are ok. But the thumb is where it's at these days.

The past two nights he got up at 3:30 after a pretty long stretch of lasting until 7am. So Mommy sleeps while we type and play. In the morning now he likes to turn himself sideways in the crib before we get up.

His rash is still there. We looked it up and think it is eczema. He goes to the Dr. on Monday.

Will you be my Valentine?

Meanwhile at the party, every  time Mikey and Lisa's daughter Theresa sees Tucker, she immediately holds his hand. BBFF. (baby best friends forever) Maybe it's his stylish outfits and dashing good looks?

The V-Twins turn 1

We went to Joe and Elizabeth's daughters' Victoria and Virgina (the V-Twins, get it?) first birthday party. There were tons of people (that's not even half the people in the photo) crammed into their house dying to see the girls smash their cake rather than eat it. Meanwhile, after about 2 hours at the party, Tucker still was sleeping in the corner and missed the whole thing.

The Hot Mommy Crew

Yesterday we went to David and Caryn's house to hang out with Marlene and Tanya. Caryn is about 2 weeks away from having a new baby boy, whom we determined would be in the same class as Tucker. Here he is with Jocelyn, Marlene's youngest. David and Caryn's son Aaron got to see what it will be like with his new baby brother, and he was a big help. Expecting Mommy Tanya made egg salad, which fortunately David shares a dislike for... so we ate Chicken instead. Note David's '67 LeMans in the background. Yes, I did that on purpose.

Just cause that's how we roll

Tucker had some really good tummy time today. He was playing with his tractor again. Libby held it up above his head so he could just barely see it. Eventually after a few tries, he managed to go from his tummy to his back all by himself. We clapped and cheered to which he just looked up at us like... "what just happened?"

He also had his first playtime accident. While playing with the tractor, he had a firm grip of the wheel, and the tractor pivoted on the axle, smacking him in the face. He was surprised but no big deal. Then he grabbed it and swung it and smacked himself in the head. While giggling, and before I could take it away, he did it again. This time there were tears. So we switched to some softer toys and he was a happy camper again. BTW, tractor tires are tasty. Tucker says so. Who knew?

Here are a few more pics. . First, me and the boy relaxing in the glider. Next up, he smiles all the time now. He's a happy kid. Which is cool, cause we're happy parents. :)  Finally, this is Tucker's first tractor. I got it at the Ertl Museum in '98. As far as my collection went, it wasn't terribly exciting, but it was free as part of a tour that shows how they were made. I knew that it would come in handy some day. Now if I could just find a small plastic P-40 or P-51... :)

Mr Snuffalupagus

Tucker had a cold this week after partying hard last weekend. It only lasted a couple days though. I have a bunch of pics to go through, so I'll try to post more later.
